Winter Mist, Yosemite Valley, California

Tunnel View is one of the most iconic photo locations in Yosemite. Because of this fact, the conditions have to be really special to pull me there. Well, this was it. When the clouds sink into the Valley, special things happen. I pulled myself out of my warm sleeping bag (I was battling brionchitus) and stood in the rain for almost 2 hours waiting for the clouds to form just right. As the wispy fingers of cloud began weaving through the trees below, and partially obscured the granite peaks above, the moment was right. I can only imagine how the first visitors to this magnificent valley felt when they experienced the grandieur and mystery of this natural wonder. Experiences like this let me share that connection to the past. I am happy to share it with you!
