Trees on Merced Black & White

What can be more exciting (to a photographer) than to be moved to compose a black and white image in Yosemite Valley?
I had been scouting The Valley the afternoon before and came upon this classic scene along the Merced River. It was as though I were drawn to the scene. While I was compelled to create this image, I had to wait until the lighting conditions were ideal. I returned the following morning with great anticipation, and found the conditions to be perfect. I excitedly set up my 4x5 inch film camera, composed the scene, loaded one sheet of black and white film and.....click. my exposure was complete. Upon returning home I hand processed the film and was pleased with the result. A classic, quiet, expressive image that exudes the emotions I feel while in Yosemite Valley!
