silver lining, emerald bay

Well, sunrise doesn't always happen the way you expect. Cloudy mornings fill me with hope, but you just never know. On this particular morning there was a heavy layer of cloud right along the horizon line. Needless to say, the "official" time of sunrise came and went with no light. Fortunately, I was patient. As the sun broke through the cloud layer about 20 minutes after sunrise, the magic happened. The rays of the sun refracted around the hard edge of the cloud creating a beautiful sunstar, and the angle of light backlit the clouds giving a "silver lining" for my photographic story. That's how to start a day!
