Oak Tree Silhouette, Yosemite Valley, California

I consider this a classic Yosemite image (in my eyes), even without the classic vista or iconic granite monolith. The Yosemite I have experienced, within the grandeur, is one of intimate details and challenging light. I recall the excitement I felt when this composition came to me. There was no question. The dramatic silhouettes of the Oak trees, the vibrant backlit spring leaves, and the mottled light on the distant pines and granite wall. This is a diverse place that has a very dramatic feel. The depth of color, contrast and scale pull me in. This is my Yosemite. I am happy to share!
