As they say, a mother bear with cubs is dangerous. However, they can also be cute! This big Alaskan Brown Bear cow was fishing for salmon as her two one year old cubs wreaked havoc just 50 yards up river. I made an effort to stay at a respectful distance, while still attempting to capture compelling images. At this moment she stood up in the river to inspect what I was doing. The look on her face, with water droplets streaming down, was priceless. As her main focus was consuming enough salmon to get through winter, and I posed no threat, she returned to fishing and chasing the kids. I respectfully backed away, grateful for the experience and the image.
