Great Grey Owl Flying, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

I heard rumors of a Great Grey Owl feeding in an area of Yellowstone National Park, about 2 hours from where I was camped in grand Teton National Park. I took the chance and made the trip. It was well worth it. What a beautiful bird. I spent several hours observing this owl and attempting to photograph it successfully. It would perch on a tree and assess the meadow below. When it saw movement, it would drop into the grass, gulp down a vole or mouse and fly off to a new perch. As the winter storms were approaching, I could sense the owls urgency to feed. His focus was unwavering. Fortunately for me, his persistence gave me enough opportunity to capture several beautiful images.
