Grand Canyon Sunrise, Arizona

Grand Canyon National Park is quite an impressive place to visit. At sunrise, when there are few people there to share it with, the quiet adds to the spectacle. It is always exciting waiting for sunrise, not knowing if the light will happen. Setting up my big 8x10 inch film camera adds to the anticipation. It is a process that makes me feel committed to the endeavor, and causes me to be more in tune with nature's flow. On this morning I was rewarded with a soft light and pastel color as the sun peaked over the horizon to begin the day. A beautiful day had begun. I was happy to be there to witness the show.
