Cathedral Aspens Panorama

Cathedral Aspens 4x10 Panorama is a product of this last Fall. I wasn't very inspired by the colors here in Tahoe this October, but as the season waned I pushed myself to explore with an open mind. I tried to put aside the expectations of vibrant colors and just relaxed into what was on display. On this particular morning, I ventured out into one of my favorite aspen groves during an early snowfall. Along with the lines of the white aspen trunks, I was taken with the rich earth tones of the grasses and leaves on the bushes, which were wet, rich and saturated. This image is both relaxing and exciting. A quality of many of my signature pieces is the feeling that you can walk right into the scene. Cathedral Aspens certainly has this quality. Captured on a 4x10 inch sheet of film, the detail is extraordinary. I look forward to my collectors reactions as they are taken aback by the initial impact of this scene, then as they relax, becoming lost in the fine details during their walk through the forest.
