Brown Bear in Fall Reflection, Brooks River, Katmai National Park, Alaska

What an amazing moment! An 850 pound Alaskan Brown Bear, salmon in "hand", bathed in fall reflections, staring strait into my lens with water dripping from her chin. As I lay on my stomach on the muddy shoreline observing this beautiful creature, I was fully aware of the power she possessed. I was able to take several frames before showing her due respect, and slowly walking away. I am grateful for the experience, and the fact that I am able to share these precious moments with you. Wild places, and the animals that live there, are a treasure for us to enjoy and preserve.
